Hank is just what I was hoping for as a nice blend
of Cinder and Khan. He has some eye but doesn't use it all the
time. He tends to be a very low heeler, and seems to be somewhat
of a natural driving dog, although he fetches well also.
He tended
to run close at first, but he is widening out gradually and has a
great sense of balance. He will steady up on the fetch pretty
well. He has started out on close pen work very well, without
stress or a lot of biting he could calmly get around in a packed
pen of sheep. Although if they don't get out of his way he is not
adverse to heeling a bit. He hasn't worked cattle much yet, but
when I tried him he was very enthusiastic and took right to it.
His personality is just wonderful. Although he will bark at
visitors approaching the house with a very deep, almost hounddog
like bark, he's basically a very outgoing, loving dog who will be
in your lap in no time. He is a goofy, extra biddable, "what
can I do for you now? " type dog. He is also completely
obsessive about retrieving anything at any time, especially the
large Jolly balls. If he can jump and retrieve at the same time he
is in heaven. He would probably make a great frisbee dog if I
could throw the things worth a darn!
Physically, Hank is a sturdy
dog, definitely a solid boy. He's very fast and very powerful. I
could fault him on the conformation side for having a bit of a
steep croup, a bit of a long muzzle, and he is missing the 2
smallest premolars.
