Dodge
has become a very friendly dog- he was reserved with strangers at first
but now he welcomes people and though he is devoted to me he seems to
like visitors as well. He is not a
watchdog. He
works sheep, and does nice on cattle as well. He
likes the
head, and has good grouping ability. The pictures
below
show him learning to drive cattle down a wide alleyway.
He
wasn't too sure about ducks at first, but I worked him using a Ben
Means small pen technique and it seemed to make him see the point of
the little feathered critters. Now he can take the
ducks
out into the open field and fetch them around with
me. He
is not a hard dog, but he has determination and the more I work with
him the more he shows it and takes correction
better. He
has nice natural flanks, a little eye and is now learning to drive
some. He prefers fetching.
He is a very happy guy and his nickname is "Buddy" because he is mine.
